Her greatest achievements were made in 2004, when she managed to win the 2004 World Series of Poker $2k Omaha Hi/Lo Split-8 or Better. During the successful year 2004 she also managed to win the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions, there she managed to earn one of the greatest prizes out there $2,000,000. That was a winner takes it all prize.
Annie Duke is a professional poker player that was born in Concord, New Hampshire. Her father is a writer and linguist, and he was teaching at St. Paul's School. Annie Duke's brother is also a successful poker player (Howard Lederer). And her sister is an author that wrote a successful book about her family (Poker Face: A Girl Among Gamblers)
Annie Duke went to the Columbia University, where she managed to graduate in two different domains: English and Psuchology.
She got married with one close friend from the university called Ben Duke, and after that they both moved together in his house from Columbus Montana. Even if Annie Duke wanted to finish her studies she eventually had to quit, just one month before she getting her Ph.D diploma. Annie Duke with the help of her brother Howard Lederer, wanted to become a professional poker player.
In 2002 Annie Duke moved to Oregon, where she worked for ieLogic, an online software company that is concentrated on producing software for online casinos. Annie Duke and Ben Duke divorced back in 2004. In the same time she managed to win a bet with another famous poker player Steve Zoltow, that her marriage wouldn't last for 5 years. Next year she moved to Hollywood, in LA, California.
